About

Thank you for visiting our website. From the hearts and minds of Cobretti Williams and Bruce Mann, Cult Frictions is a blog space dedicated to the discussion, education, and dialogue about cultural appropriation and its pervasive nature in society. The goal of our blog is to deepen understanding of cultural appropriation, how it relates to systemic racism and white privilege, and its interconnectedness between sexism, heterosexism, classism, and other forms of oppression.

Within our space you will find the history of cultural appropriate in the U.S., resources for further education, and personal reflections provided by yours truly. Ultimately, Cult Frictions goes beyond an awareness of cultural appropriation and bleeds into uncovering the threat of racism in the social justice movement.
